Let us listen to Him is published by the Diocese of Salem. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be waded through.

The short version

• There are no user accounts. You do not sign in to use the app.
• We do not track you, show advertising, or run analytics.
• We do not sell or share your information with anyone.
• The only information we receive is what you type into a prayer request.

Prayer requests

If you choose to send a prayer request, the app sends us:

• the name you give us,
• a contact detail — an email address or phone number — if you choose to add one,
• the intention you write, and the category you pick for it.

We use this only so the Bishop and diocesan staff can pray for your intention and, if you asked to be contacted, reply to you. Please share only what you are comfortable for diocesan staff to read. You may use a first name only, and the contact field can be left blank.

Everything else in the app

Browsing the Bible recordings, videos, articles, events and the Bishop’s profile does not require any information from you. The app requests that content from our server the same way for everyone; nothing identifies you.

Where your information is held

Prayer requests are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in Google’s asia-south1 region in India, and are reachable only by authorised diocesan staff through a password-protected admin console. Requests are not readable by other app users, and the app has no way to browse them.

How long we keep it

Prayer requests are kept while they are being prayed for and for a reasonable period afterwards for pastoral follow-up, then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us a prayer request, contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices

• Do not send a prayer request, and we hold nothing about you at all.
• Ask us for a copy of what you have sent, or ask us to correct or delete it.
• Delete the app; nothing is left on our side except any request you sent.

Permissions the app asks for

The app declares the microphone permission because the audio framework that powers the Voice Bible player references it. The app never records audio and never requests microphone access.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app.
